Partially based on a true story, it is a kaleidoscopic journey filled with aliens, human frailty, apocalyptic messages, and super sci-fi scenarios. Beautifully illustrated, it is hard to put down. In fact, I didn't put it down. I read this on my porch outside, which I think is the best place to read a story like this. Prepare yourself to be amazed and enlightened as well as entertained. If the story wasn't enough, it comes with a funky CD by the Funky Heroes entitled ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Funky, Universal Funk Opera Act I’. P-Funky enough to make George Clinton himself get out of his seat. Bombastic bass lines, energetic keyboard grooves, and lively lyrics all come together for a funky goodtime..”.

WELCOME TO THE YOUNIVERSE!
PLANET WO! CREATIONS presents this multimedia experience created and produced by Andre E. Preston. Beginning with the ‘Welcome to the YOUniverse’ graphic novel series based on real events, this project includes a soundtrack, a live performance (The Universal Funk Opera) featuring a live band (The Funky Heroes) and a screen show that highlights the story. The saga begins with a trilogy of graphic novels.
ACT 1 (BOOK 1/A)
Book 1/A is a double-sided edition that presents two different perspectives on the same story line, and takes the audience on a journey through time and space. The story is based on a true encounter, and it follows the parallel tale of Willis O. Cyrus, who encountered a strange unearthly entity while on a camping trip with his friend Felicity Sweet. Willis was given information about the future of planet Earth and the wild ride was just beginning. Likewise, the adventure relocates to Jupiter where it features the story of Erdna Siriso and his companion, Atsirk Sisi, whose grandmother, Ka’la’lani, discovered a meteor headed for Earth. Jupiter’s High Command attempted to send a warning to Earth, but the messengers were killed by frightened humans. Jupiter was later struck by comet fragments, Atsirk and Erdna were critically injured, then years later Earth was struck and destroyed by the afforementioned meteor.
ACT 2 (BOOK 2)
BOOK 2 picks up right where Book 1/A left off, and so, boom! the Earth was crumbled. Our precious little paradise, laid to waste. It turns out that all is not lost, after all! At 11:59 pm on June 6th, late 20th century, what seemed like a massive earthquake shook Willis’ apartment vigorously, knocking him to the floor. Within the next 1.4 seconds, three things happened:
Willis and Destiny were engulfed in a beam of blinding light.
They disappeared into thin air, and
3.The apartment was completely destroyed
Thinking he was dead, Willis suddenly realized that he and Destiny were being held in suspended animation, unable to move in some dark, weird chamber. They had been rescued by a race of beings known as Tariaxians, from a binary star system 4,000 light years away, and Willis was offered a proposition he couldn’t refuse. After a day’s rest, Willis and Destiny and the 800,000 Tariaxians who survived their system’s own tragic cosmic event trekked across the desert for some three days to Soldesta Nee tower, where Willis would uphold his end of a bargain made with the Tariaxians. After the deed was done, a massive celebration ensued, and the Funky Heroes descended to give a concert before the entire race. As part of the deal, Willis had learned many cosmic sciences, including time travel, so when he was ready, he and Destiny bade farewell to the Tariaxians and were returned to Earth to a key point in Earth’s timeline.
ACT 3 (BOOK 3)
Book 3 brings us back to Earth. 1947, to be exact. Back to a point in time when, and where, in Book 1/A certain messengers from Jupiter were hastily murdered. Willis is tasked with finding a way to convince these frightened Earthlings not to kill the Alien messengers and listen to what they have to say. Easier said than done for a Black man hiding behind a crashed spaceship in a New Mexico desert in 1947. Equipped with a visual recording of things to come, Willis makes his case and is brought before 7 world leaders in a top secret meeting deep underground, where the dying aliens and their ship are being held and examined. One of them, Ka’la’lani, is able to make contact with the Jupiter High Command and make arrangements for Earth’s evacuation to Mars ahead of the future meteor impact that destroys the planet. One vital question remains: will Willis and Destiny’s altering of history create a new future? One in which the Earth is spared the wrath of Ka’la’lani’s meteor?
So, Book 4? OF COURSE! But no spoilers yet! The story is already written. Stay tuned!
